P had her first visit to Chuck E. Cheese last night for her cousie Mindy's birthday. Hubby took her. All day we talked about how she was going to a birthday party, eat pizza and cake, play games and get to see her Auntie Carol, Candyce and Carlye and Mindy. She was really excited...until she got there. Hubby said she was really shy and seem overwhelmed. I am not surprised. She is still seems a bit young for a place like that, but she did have fun.
I could tell exactly how she was feeling when hubby showed me a picture they took together. I saw it in her eyes and her expression - completely overwhelmed. I have seen that look before and really wish I was there to help her ease into the situation, but she was just fine. My little Miss Independent. Hubby said she kept playing with a broken game. It was a car racing game and the screen was stuck but she really liked turning the wheel and acting like she was driving. He said it was really cute. The games for kids her age are like the bouncy characters that rock back and forth and some balls. Hubby said the atmosphere was stimulus enough. Kids running around screaming, lights and game noises going off everywhere, etc., etc. Not really my kind of place, but I will suck it up to take P again. I know when she gets a little older she'll be able to interact more with other kids and play the games...but, I can certainly wait. I can only tolerate a place like that for a short amount of time....I suppose seeing me child enjoy herslf would make it fun.
On an Ethan note - he lost his belly cord yesterday. I remember that P lost is on Mother's Day and it was a great gift. That little thing stressed me out knowing I could accidentally pull it out or something. Ethan lost it close to V-day - guess I will remember that little event always. haha! I am syked to give him a bath in a tub. It will be cute to see what he does.
He cracks me up. He goes from 0 - 100 in seconds as far as getting upset. There is no a "little" upset - it is either "I am wet and change me RIGHT NOW" or "I am hungry, give me boobie RIGHT NOW" or "I am cold - put a blanket on me RIGHT NOW!" And, that folks, is why I love him. It will be interesting to see if that little temperament is solely survival mode or if it is truly a part of his personality.
